First birthdays are a special milestone but I think the second birthdays are more magical! They are old enough to understand that it is a special day all about them! Kinley carried around her birthday invitation and had been talking about her Minnie party for months. Every time I made or bought something for the party I would show her and she would show it to daddy and brother. I am excited to finally share details and pictures of her second birthday party!

The Theme: Minnie Mouse

Kinley loves all things girly. Shoes, clothes, jewelry, painted nails and Minnie Mouse. This was a perfect theme for her.

YOUnique Ears, Minnie Manis, Bracelet Boutique, Pin the Bow

We had three fun stations – Minnie/Mickey ear decorating, bracelet making and a nail painting and temporary tattoo station. We also played pin the bow/bowtie on Minnie/Mickey.

Food + Favors

We had a variety of snacks and light fare but my favorites were the bow cake pops I made and our berry bows. We gave all of our little guests a Minnie (or Mickey/Goofy) plush as a parting gift.

Decorations

My favorite part of any party! Balloon towers are one of my decorating go-to’s. We also used wrapping paper for table runners, a fabric and PVC piped backdrop, paper fans repurposed from her first birthday and anything else black, white, or pink that I could get my hands on.

Two new projects I tackled for this party were crafting a piñata from scratch and balloon garland – one with great success and one a nice big fail. Glue dots and balloons outdoors in AZ heat do not mix!
